Before investing, check how often the grid curtails renewable generation

Calculate how much a renewable energy installation could lose through redispatch and negative prices before buying land or signing a contract: hour-by-hour PSE data for the whole country, plus pressure indicators from around 30 extra-high-voltage grid nodes.

The data covers the national scale and extra-high-voltage (NN) nodes; it is not a result for a specific land parcel.

Shutdown riskHow many MWh the operator curtailed nationwide, plus a pressure ranking for extra-high-voltage (NN) nodes.
Negative pricesHours for which the Renewable Energy Sources Act limits support, and estimated losses in PLN.

Before buying land, find out whether the nearby substation has available capacity

The land parcel profile gives figures calculated for the selected point: the nearest listed substation with its available capacity and distance, the total number of applications in the queue, and redispatch at the nearest extra-high-voltage (NN) node.

For your project: A node near the top of the list is a location where the transmission system operator reported the most redispatch. This is system context, not an assessment of your parcel's connection capability. Compare it with the available capacity at that primary substation (GPZ) in the “Check capacity” tool.

Scale of renewable generation redispatch in 2026 (national curtailment)

How much wind and solar energy the operator actually curtailed across the Polish power system from the start of the year. Calculated from PSE non-market redispatch data (poze-redoze) in 15-minute intervals. This describes the national scale, not an individual farm, and shows how quickly the problem grows in spring and summer.

Loading renewable generation redispatch data...
For your project: The higher national curtailment is, the more real the risk that some of your generation will not reach the grid. Include an allowance for lost volume in the project's financial model.

System context: why curtailment risk is increasing

Two indicators from the Polish power system. The higher the share of renewables in meeting demand, the stronger the redispatch pressure. The operator also announces in advance (day ahead) how much capacity it plans to curtail.

Overproduction index and negative price threshold

When a high renewable share in meeting demand coincides with low demand, the risk of redispatch (curtailment) and negative prices rises sharply. The indicators below were calculated from PSE data for the first half of 2026.

Loading overproduction indicators…

Grid saturation with renewable small-scale installations by voivodeship

Where the density of small-scale renewable installations (MIOZE) is highest relative to available grid connection headroom. The indicative ratio (small-scale installation capacity ÷ available primary substation (GPZ) capacity) identifies regions with the least grid headroom for a new renewable energy project.

For your project: High saturation in a voivodeship means new connections are more difficult and competition for available connection capacity is greater.

Renewable energy connection refusals (URE)

A connection refusal concerns the stage of seeking grid access. Curtailment means reducing generation at an operating installation. Below are aggregate figures for 2025 from the URE report, distinguishing refusals to issue conditions from refusals to enter into an agreement.

Loading connection refusal data...
For your project: Aggregate data shows the scale of refusals. It does not determine whether your parcel can connect to the grid or when your project can proceed. Check the relevant operator’s conditions and information.

Negative prices on the day-ahead market (2026)

When renewable supply exceeds demand, the day-ahead market price falls below zero. The generator then pays to export energy and, under auctions and FIT/FIP, also loses support. The scale increases in spring and summer. Figures are calculated from day-ahead market (RDN) prices published by PSE.

Loading negative price data...
For your project: Negative-price hours mean volumes without revenue. Under auctions and FIT/FIP, volumes from these hours are not eligible for negative-balance coverage (Article 93(4) of the Renewable Energy Sources Act), while a run of ≥6 consecutive such hours removes certificates of origin for those hours (Article 46(4)–(5)). Allow for this in your revenue forecast.

Actual renewable generation redispatch events in 2026 (PSE notices)

PSE publishes notices on entitlement to compensation for non-market redispatch of solar PV installations. Each notice confirms days on which PV owners were curtailed and became entitled to compensation. The scale and frequency increase in spring and summer.

  • 6–8 June 2026, PV redispatch, entitlement to compensation. PSE notice
  • 27–31 May 2026, PV redispatch (5 consecutive days). PSE notice
  • 20–26 May 2026, PV redispatch (7 consecutive days). PSE notice
  • 4–6 May 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
  • 10–13 April 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
  • 7 and 9 April 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
  • 2–5 March 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
  • 20–22 February 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
  • 31 January – 1 February 2026, PV redispatch. PSE notice
Full list and current notices: PSE – Non-market redispatch. Quarter-hourly data on renewable generation reductions (since 27.09.2024): raporty.pse.pl/poze-redoze.
For your project: These are actual curtailment instructions. As part of due diligence, check the redispatch history for the specific connection node.

Extra-high-voltage (NN) nodes under the greatest pressure

Ranking of transmission nodes (220/400 kV) by a relative redispatch pressure index (0–100). Click a node to locate it on the map. This is an approximate picture of grid loading, not generation curtailment at a specific substation.

Renewable energy connection queue

You can see the queue broken down around a specific parcel on the location card for that parcel.

The capacity and number of applications awaiting connection with operators: an indication of grid congestion alongside connection refusals. The longer the queue, the harder it is to secure a new connection point in the region.

Loading the queue…
For your project: a long queue with a given DSO means schedule risk; compare it with available primary substation (GPZ) capacity and refusals in the region.
Dataset status and disclaimers

This material is for information and screening purposes; it is not legal advice or an investment recommendation for a specific project. PSE data is national or broken down by transmission node; it does not show renewable generation curtailment at individual primary substations (GPZ). The “available connection capacity for generators” layer contains values published by distribution system operators (110 kV grid), as at the date shown for each map point. These are separate from extra-high-voltage (NN) transmission nodes and curtailment; confirm current availability with the relevant DSO before making a decision. We downloaded the data for this page on 23.08.2026, and describe the legal position as at 22.06.2026.
